This image is part of a new project that he is producing for a local exhibition based on the stories written by the Brothers Grimm. Each different fairytale story features a dark twist on those usually seen in Disney films. For more information on Michael's work visit his website.

Thanks so much to everyone for entering the first week of the competition. We had a good response considering we've just started, and the photos and illustrations we received were stunning! Such a varied style and category of image as well.

We were torn between 2 images this week. An entry by Matt Payne blew us away with its romantic and awe inspiring hues of magenta and light shows over Colorado:
